Story
This bakery cafe draws people for its vegan breads, made with plant-based ingredients rather than eggs, milk, butter, honey, or other animal-derived ingredients. It is a sister shop to Alaska zwei in Nakameguro and Universal Bakes Nicome in Shimokitazawa. Indoor seating and an outdoor bench offer space to enjoy the weekday-only Morning Set or dine-in-only French toast.
History
The name “Universal” reflects a wish to make food that is accessible to everyone, drawing on the idea of universal design.
How to visit
The Morning Set is available only on weekdays, and French toast is for dine-in customers only. Power outlets are available, but there is no Wi-Fi.
